We all have heard about Ayuredic Kadha for its immunity boosting properties. So, what actually Ayurvedic Kadha is? It is a drink which is made up of natural herbs and spices which are boiled in water for a long time. It is a home remedy. This remedy can make you stronger, protect you from seasonal infections.

Kadha is made up of the ingredients which you cannot take in raw form that is why the ingredients are boiled in water and then taken. Some of the ingredients are giloy or guduchi which can be mixed with some natural immunity boosters like, tulsi, turmeric, ginger, etc.

Kadha can be made mixing several ingredients together. Several kadhas are used from age-old times for curing cold, cough, mild fever, and many more.

Benefits of Kadha

There are several benefits of kadha-

It can cure cold and cough,

Makes you stronger,

Tulsi helps in reducing mucus in the body.

Honey increases the temperature of the body and helps in increasing immunity of the body.

Here are some of the ayurvedic kadhas to increase the immunity-

1. One of the most effective Ayurvedic kadha


  1. 1 teaspoon mulethi
  2. 8-10 basil leaves
  3. 2-4 grams cinnamon
  4. 1 inch fresh ginger
  5. 1 inch fresh turmeric
  6. A little stick of Giloy and 2-4 leaves
  7. Some black pepper
  8. One liter of water

Firstly, grind them. Now, boil this powder in liter of water. After boiling whatever the quantity is left, filter it and drink it.

2. Tulsi-ginger kadha


  1. Tulsi leaves
  2. Black pepper
  3. Ginger
  4. One liter water

Grind all these together and the boil in the water. After filtering it, drink the kadha.

3. Dry spices kadha


  • cardamom 1 tbsp
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • dried ginger 1 tbsp
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 3 cups water
  • Honey – optional to taste

Add the ingredients in water and boil them together. Then filter the liquid and drink it.

4. Tulsi kadha


  • basil leaves 1 tbsp
  • 1 tbsp cardamom
  • cinnamon 1 tbsp
  • 1 tbsp dried ginger
  • black pepper 1 tbsp
  • A few pieces of raisin
  • 2-3 cups water
  • Honey or jaggery to taste (optional)
  • Fresh lemon juice

Grind the spices. Take water in a pan and add all the ingredients. When water gets boiled, strain the liquid and then drink it.

5. Raisin-tulsi kadha


  • 4-5 Tulsi leaves,
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon powder,
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper powder,
  • 1 inch Ginger,
  • 3-4 Munakka (Raisin)
  • 2-3 cup water

Grind all the ingredients and boil in water. When the water gets boiled, filter the liquid and then drink it.
